M. I. Green Designs - "Abstract Contemporary Expressions"

Welcome to my world. It is a world of creativity. I believe abstract art encourages one to think. A conclusion must be reached by the abstract art viewer. One opinion of what the viewer is seeing is often different from the opinion of another. To make one think, expand their mind and determine what an abstract canvas means to them, is why I paint. I have written explanations of most every canvas that I have painted. It is important for the client to know what I feel about my art. If an artist doesn't think their art means something, then why should a viewer think it means anything at all? Enlarging your horizons as a person and an artist into uncharted areas can bring unexpected satisfaction. Persistence in promoting ones vocation is paramount.

I'm creating some new work on a special watercolor paper called "Yupo". It allows for some
facinating  free blinding of paint on this 2% absorbent paper. I would love for you to stop by the
studio and see what can happen with this new technique. I have very small works starting at $25
dollars to $350. I hope to show you this wonderful art medium.  Look forward to visiting with
       you.  Margo I. Green

Santa Fe, New Mexico is even beautiful during a rain. When the rain comes down on a cold wint
er day, you can still feel the wamth of the kiva fires and the color of rich sand, golden skies and vivid turquoise. Santa Fe is truly and experience...brightly colored and mysterious especially in the "Santa Fe Rain".

    36 x 48        "Foxfire"     Textured Acrylic

"Foxfire" was accepted into a Juried Show at Archway Gallery Houston, Tx July 2-August 5th 2010. Jeff Law was the juror also accepted in the Galveston Art League winter 2012 juried show, Lori Betz, juror.

Foxfire is a phenomenon experienced by ancient Greek, Roman and American Indian wonderers.  Sometimes a greenish light or a tree branch shining bright in the  forests of the night led the way of the ancients. Native Americans placed  glowing wooden pillars by their doorways to welcome visitors. I believe that  the warmth of "Foxfire" is a welcoming sign and can lead the way to a safer path.

                           "Caribbean Dawn"
                         Free Spirit Series

Nothing can be as peaceful as a Cribbean morning. The sea can be clear, calm and suddenly the wind can stir the waters and the clouds give way to rain and turbulence. Deep yellow and orange of the dawn mixed with the turquoise of the varied colors of the sea can awaken the "Caribbean Dawn".

"Re- emergence  of the Phoenix"
                    36 x 48 Textural Acrylic

                       Free Spirit Series

The legend of the Phoenix has been around for centuries. The Phoenix is a supernatural creature, living for a thousand years. Once that time is over, it builds its own funeral pyre, and throws itself into the flames. As it dies, it is reborn anew, and rises from the ashes to live another thousand years. In this painting I imagine the moment when the Phoenix re-emerges from the fire to soar into the skies for another thousand years.

"Re-emergence of the Phoenix" was diaplayed at the "Summerview Exhibition" at Phoenix Tower 3200 S.W. Freeway at Buffalo Speedwy,Houston on the 9th floor Sky Lobby.
